Privacy Policy

Your data, your privacy.

IN SHORT

The timer works without an account. Today, workouts and history stay on your device; we only send aggregate usage metrics, not workout content.

Who is responsible

Trotinho is an independent interval-training timer project. For questions or requests to access, correct, or delete personal data, email privacy@trotinho.com. Use this address for private requests, and avoid sending unnecessary health information.

Data stored on your device

The app uses browser storage for configured workouts, audio and language settings, saved workouts, session history, effort ratings, in-progress workout checkpoints, and display preferences. The current free version does not sync these details to an account. You can manually export or import a backup and remove locally stored data through your browser's site settings. Clearing site data may permanently remove your local history.

Usage metrics

We use first-party events to count visits, app opens, workout starts, completions or interruptions, clicks, and interest in planned features. We send only event type, categorized traffic source, language, timer mode, and whether the event came from the app or website. These events do not include your name, a persistent user identifier, GPS, workout duration, or workout content. We do not use advertising cookies for these events and respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Cloudflare, as our hosting and security provider, may process technical connection information such as IP addresses under its own policies.

Shared workouts

If you choose to share a workout, the app may create a link containing the configuration needed for another person to open it. Anyone with that link may view the shared workout. Avoid including personal details in workout names before sharing.

Google sign-in and planned features

Google sign-in, cloud synchronization, and paid Pro plans are not publicly available yet. When sign-in launches, we may use basic information you authorize Google to share — such as name, email, and profile photo — only to identify and maintain your account. We will not request your Google password. Before introducing workout sync, student relationships, or other cloud features, we will update this policy to describe the relevant data, purposes, sharing, retention, and controls.

Purposes and service providers

We use information needed to deliver requested features, maintain local preferences, measure product usage in aggregate, and protect our infrastructure. Our site and app use Cloudflare services; Google will participate in authentication only if and when sign-in is enabled and you choose it. Technical information may be subject to these providers' security and retention practices.

Your controls and rights

You can use the timer without an account, clear local browser storage, export or import workouts, and use your browser's privacy controls. If we hold personal data about you, you may request information, correction, or deletion as provided by applicable law by emailing privacy@trotinho.com. Requests involving personal data should be handled through this private channel.

Updates

We may revise this policy as the app evolves, particularly before launching sign-in, cloud data storage, or paid features. The published version shows its latest revision date.
